How to be more visible using video

I OVERSTAND where you're at. Just a little over 2 years ago I didn't even want to push the LIVE button and now I have an ever-growing YouTube Channel and I use Reels like they are going out of style.

1. I realized that social media is favoring video BIG TIME

2. I know this is an amazing way to connect deeply with my audience

3. I stopped letting fear lead me

Does that mean that video has always been easy?

NOT AT ALL! But I have learned that video doesn't have to be super scary or overwhelming. There are two important components to focus on if you want to effectively leverage the power of video and magnetize your audience.

1. Be consistent- the more you practice video the easy it gets. Notice I did not say that practice makes perfect. There is no such thing as a perfect video. The good news is that the more consistent you are with it the more confident and comfortable you become. When I go back and check my older videos I am always so amazed with how far I have come. This is all because I was consistent. So considering this what is a plan you can commit to. Is it one story per day, Is it one YouTube Video a week? Is it 3 reels per week? It is much better to be consistent than to try to over-commit and exhaust yourself. In addition, when you're consistent your audience can begin to trust you and trust is the foundation of conversions and sales.

2. Be Authentic- When you try to show up online as someone you're not you will exhaust yourself. I promise. Don't do it- you deserve better. Be yourself because your authenticity is your greatest asset. For me when I started going live I would try to make sure I looked perfect, that the lighting was perfect etc. It became a whole event just for a live video. Needless to say it was exhausting. One day I decided to go live, while doing an afternoon walk and I haven't looked back since. First off I was in my zone and had just had an intuitive download of what I wanted to share, second off my audience was super engaged. Lastly, it felt natural- not forced, not scary. It just felt good. This is because I gave myself permission to just be me.

This is what your audience is looking for. They are not searching for the social media facade version of who you are. They want the real authentic you. This is what video allows. Being on video shows the vulnerable side of you- Who you are, your mannerisms If you make a mistake how you respond, how you handle questions etc. This raw and real side that comes online creates a deep connection with your audience. One that is much harder to facilitate through text alone.
