To write a successful press release you have to be newsworthy this includes:

    1. Headline- make it less than 20 words, but catchy.
    2. Subheading- Optional, but if you decide, make it about sentence length.
    3. Date (put today's date, but also let them know this is for immediate release)
    4. Location (where is your business located)
    5. Logo (this is so important for both branding and to familiarize others with you)
    6. Company Information (share the size of your company, when you were founded, what makes you unique and who is the owner. The more information the better so that they do not have to spend their time researching)
    7. Summary - This is the first thing the actual reader will see after the headline and subheading. Make it intriguing so that they continue to read.
    8. Body text (Give great detail. I got some insight about this from Thinkific specifically)
      • Who is releasing this course?
      • What topics does the course cover?
      • When will learners be able to take advantage of it?
      • Where is this company located, and which locations will it serve?
      • How can the course be accessed?
      • Finally, who will benefit from taking this course?
    9. A quote from someone in the company- MUST be original but very deep, avoid bland, cliche and empty statements
    10. Contact Information-  Be sure link your website, email, contact number, social media handles, and, where they can get a copy of your book.

 

  • Call To Action –A call to action is the sentence in your press release that tells readers exactly what you want them to do. Your call to action could lead to your blog, it could be asking the readers to sign up for a newsletter, or a free consultation, or to attend a book launch. Consider what the best call to action will be for what you desire.
