I am a Christian AND a Hypnotherapist

A question I got recently is how can you be a hypnotherapist and Christian?

And the answer is yes you can be both!!! YES I am an unapologetic believer! Christ is my savior and God's son. He died on the cross for my sins and I am forever thankful for Him. And yes I am also a certified hypnotherapist as well.

While to me, I recognize you can be both I know that most people don't understand how....and the reason I know this is because I was one of them.

When I first sought out to improve my skills as a coach I was seeking a program to learn about EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques). I found an amazing program that would help me to become certified in EFT. but the caveat was it also helped me to become certified in hypnotherapy. I was extremely hesitant about the hypnotherapy piece, but I prayed and felt this was the best decision for my business. I even was sure to ask another believer to pray and hold me accountable if I got too far out of line. I then decided to move forward trusting God was with me the entire time.

When I began the program I was totally closed off to hypnotherapy and decided to put my focus on the EFT portion of the program. While I was loving that I noticed that I started to get more curious about hypnotherapy. People were sharing in our online group how it was blowing their mind and the results they were getting. I wanted that and for once I felt like my guard was coming down.

I believe the reason I started to let my guard down was because my coach was always drilling in our head that prior to using hypnotherapy with a patient we needed to ensure it was ethical for 1. the patient/client, 2. the clinician, 3. the world. I also learned how some people would use it regardless of this, but I was in a group of women who wanted to change the world in the RIGHT way. This level of accountability and support made me feel safe to give it a try. So I took the leap and scheduled a session with one of the women in the program, whom I trusted.

For my hypnotherapy session I decided to focus on anxiety. For what seemed like forever, but was really only 4 months I had been struggling with anxiety about a person I contracted with in business. The contract still had 2 months left and I was exhausted working with this person. I hate being confrontational, but I felt totally taken advantage of and honestly frustrated. So I decided to try hypnotherapy to remove the anxiety around that situation and increase my confidence.

I went in my hypnotherapy for a 45 minute session, and a lot of skepticism and would you know within days of that session I was able to have an extremely productive conversation with my counterpart and for the remainder of the contract we had a harmonious relationship. It's almost scary how quick things changed.

I then decided to try hypnotherapy on a grade school friend of mine who was struggling with losing weight and loving herself totally. She wanted to be more confident and consistent with working out and removing excuses. We did ONE 45 minutes session and since then my friend has lost 30 pounds and worked out 2-3 times per week consistently for the last 6 months!

This was it for me. I was sold. From there I started reaching more about hypnotherapy as a Christian. And while I found a few hypnotherapist I knew I needed to be exactly who I was looking for. I knew someone would need who I was becoming.

Since then I have helped people become more productive, more organized, remove anxiety, remove depression, overcome addictions, love themselves, start their business with confidence and much more...

When we hear of hypnotherapy we often think of mind control and how satanic it is. Like when you see stage hypnosis you think of people barking like a dog etc.

Hypnosis is not like that at all. Hypnosis  can be equated to guided visualization. Many people say that it is a a calm, physically, and mentally relaxed state, where they are able to focus deeply on what they are thinking about.

In fact, hypnosis came from the Greek word hypnos to sleep, Hypnosis is the induction of a state of consciousness in which a person apparently loses the power of voluntary action and is highly responsive to suggestion or direction.

Literally hypnosis is a great way to get in a relaxed place and open your mind to what you truly desire. It's a powerful way to connect with subconscious to reprogram thoughts/behaviors/actions. From the time we are born to approximately age 7 we are in a state of super learning and our brain goes between alpha and theta state so you're constantly in a state of hypnosis. As we get older our prefrontal cortex evolves we become more rational and our conscious mind is firmed up.

We then adopt the limiting belief that we have no control over what was programmed into our mind. As kids this is true. Hypnosis on the other hand gives you power back. All of those limiting beliefs and negative thoughts that you have normalized are replaced with what is going to positively benefit you. You're no longer in a place of tolerating your life but you begin to create the life you know you're called to.

What most people do not know is that 99% of our actions are led by our subconscious mind, but that is the part of our brain that we never work on. When we go to school and work we are taught to use our conscious mind and therefore we operate from a limited perspective. This is your chance to use the part of your mind that will make a major difference. and this is why so many clients have massive shifts and breakthroughs within moments.

Honestly there is nothing demonic or "woo woo" about it. As the clinician my job is to get you to share your deepest desires, then get you to relax and as the clinician I guide you through what it is that you want from a different perspective so you can see what it looks and feels like. More importantly so you can see that this available to you.

Hypnosis is so life changing and I feel like it's a crime that more people don't know about it. As a clinician I have never been more impressed  with the shift and breakthroughs that have been created with my clients using hypnotherapy.

Hypnosis can improve the following:

  • Phobias, fears, and anxiety.

  • Sleep disorders.

  • Depression.

  • Stress.

  • Post-trauma anxiety.

  • Grief and loss.

We all know that an open mind might open the door to a satanic attack. Therefore it is important to watch who we are allowing to speak into our mind. This is also why you have to be careful if you choose to try hypnotherapy and make sure it's with someone who has your best intentions at heart. So if you desire to have the benefits of hypnosis, but also want to protect your mind look for a Christian hypnotherapist

Hypnosis used to be looked down upon it is now steadily gaining recognition in the world as the means to help people be successful and experience abundance in their lives.  And this is ultimately what God desires for us (John 10:10). Are you ready to receive it?
